The Thirteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday, June 27, 2021
My Dear Friends in Christ,
Sunday’s first reading from the book of Wisdom tells us of Adam and Eve’s lack of trust and cooperation with God. Today’s Gospel offers a contrast to the fall of Adam and Eve. The two parables – one of the healing of Jairus’ daughter and the second of the woman afflicted with hemorrhages – show us what happens when people put their trust in Jesus.
Do you do your part, or do you wait for God to perform a miracle? You can’t say you want to win a lottery, and yet you don’t buy a ticket. In every situation you face, ask yourself: What is my role? If we are not able to act on our own, we can seek help. Jairus’ daughter was not able to go to seek Jesus, but her father Jairus filled the gap.

The Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday, June 20, 2021
My Dear Friends in Christ,
Our readings today remind us that no matter what is going on in our lives, God is with us. During difficult times, know that there is an end and, whether we see the end in this life or the next, God allows it for our salvation. We ask for the eyes of faith to see that God is right here with us always. When we fail to stop and recognize that our Savior is in the same boat with us, it might feel like His presence is lacking, but He is right there with us.
Today, as we celebrate Father’s Day, I would like to wish all fathers and those who have been father figures to us a happy and blessed Father’s Day. We are all grateful for the support, guidance, patience, dedication and, most of all, the unselfish love of the fathers in our lives.

The Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday, June 13, 2021
My Dear Friends in Christ,
As we enter back into Ordinary Time, our readings today remind us that heaven is our true home and that we cannot make it there without God’s assistance. We often go through life wanting to be in control. We put events, future strategies or even day-to-day moments into perfect little boxes. What would it be like if we surrendered to God a little more? We would become free from attachment and more blessed than we could ever imagine.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is giving a parable of the Kingdom of God. We can ask ourselves, what are the ways I am scattering seeds of faith to others? But we cannot do this on our own; it is through the total surrender, complete faith and actively living out our faith as a witness to Christ that we can hope in eternal life. As we settle into Ordinary Time, let us grow our faith through prayer and receiving the sacraments regularly.

- Mass Readings – In the scripture readings we will hear many readings about planting, seeding and the flourishing of trees. The growth of trees is used to symbolize many things: the power of God, the good things that come to a true believer in God, and the immensity of the Kingdom of God.
- Scripture Reflection – Jon Metz offers this reflection to help think about planting seeds in our lives.
- Music – Doug presents the music menu and as we celebrate the move into Ordinary Time.

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ
Sunday, June 6, 2021
My Dear Friends in Christ,
Today we celebrate Corpus Christi — the Body and Blood of Christ. Jesus gave us the perfect and loving Gift of Himself so that we might be nourished, strengthened and more fully united to Him as we journey here on Earth. This wonderful celebration calls us to reflect on the precious gift of the Eucharist and what it truly means.
In complete love, Jesus holds nothing back from us; He gives us His whole self. We must ask ourselves if we understand Who we consume in the Eucharist. It is our precious Redeemer. Let us stop and recognize the real presence of our Savior. As we enter the church, we should strive to leave the world outside and enter into God’s presence.
