April 2022 Masses

Second Sunday of Easter

Sunday, April 24, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,

Saint Faustina Kowalska was a Polish nun who received visions from Jesus, including one of Jesus wearing a white garment with beams of red and white coming from His heart. This image came to be known as the image of Divine Mercy. Pope John Paul II declared the Second Sunday after Easter to be called “Divine Mercy Sunday.”

We are all sinners, and we need God’s mercy and forgiveness. But when we focus too much on our sins, we forget God’s divine mercy calling each one of us. God is not evaluating our sins, but calls us as forgiven sinners who can continue to witness God wherever we encounter others.

Spend some time with the offerings below from staff to prepare for Sunday Mass. And check out the opportunities below.

Easter Sunday, The Resurrection

Sunday, April 17, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,

After forty days of fasting, praying, almsgiving and giving up our old habits and sinful ways, we have many reasons to celebrate our restoration to a new life. As the body of Jesus, which rose on Easter morning, was totally different from the body of Jesus that was buried on Good Friday afternoon, we hope to be different after Lent.

The Beloved Disciple believed in the resurrection immediately. The intensity of his love towards Jesus stimulates faith instantly. Each one of us can become the beloved disciple of the Risen Lord through the intensity of our love for Him.

Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion

Sunday, April 10, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,

Holy Week spans the time from when Jesus arrives in Jerusalem to when He is crucified and then rises from the dead. We focus on the Passion (suffering) and Resurrection of Jesus Christ and the events that led up to it.

Palm Sunday tells of the great triumph of Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem. The next three days are meant for meditation on the Passion of Christ as we look forward to the Triduum, the summit of the Liturgical Year — from the evening of Holy Thursday to the Easter Vigil and then Easter Sunday. The Fifth Sunday of Lent

Sunday, April 3, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,

Today’s Gospel is the story of a woman accused of committing adultery. Her accusers brought her to Jesus. I wonder what was going on inside her head? She knew well the penalty for adultery. The Jewish law was very clear that she should die. The motive of the accusers in this story was to trap Jesus.

What a relief she must have felt with the turn of events. I am sure she thought she was daydreaming, saved from death. Jesus came to set us all free. The Sacrament of Reconciliation/Confession sets us free. Let us take advantage of it.

Spend some time with the offerings below from staff to prepare for Sunday Mass. And check out the opportunities below.
