Ephesians chapter 6, verse 18 tells us to pray at every opportunity in the Spirit, and to always pray for each other. As we remain Safer at Home through May, the parishes hope to offer an alternative way for us to pray for one another and our loved ones as a community. We have created prayer walls at both parishes, which can be used as we would our prayer books.
Each prayer wall is fashioned so that parishioners can place personal prayers written on ribbon to the hanging fabrics. Parishioners may use ribbons already provided or add ribbons of their own. Names or prayers of any kind are welcomed to be pinned onto this prayer wall. Together we will create a collage of prayers. Those wishing to add names to these prayer walls can do so themselves. In addition, you are able to send staff the names of those in need of prayer, through email at wepray@saintcatherine.org or wepray@saintsebs.org. Staff will be happy to add your prayers to the walls.
A note regarding safety– Each prayer wall will be disinfected regularly (after every use). There are ribbons at each site, however please bring your own marker. You may bring ribbons of your own as well. We ask that you use hand sanitizer before and after adding a ribbon, it will be provided at each location.
We encourage you to keep our community in your prayers. Let us pray for one another earnestly, we know there is great power in our prayers. Join us in calling to mind these prayer walls, lifting up the names to God. Catherine’s prayer wall is located inside the church, parishioners may come to the parish office between 9 am to noon for viewing. St. Sebastian’s prayer wall is located outside, at the prayer garden (facing Washington Blvd), you are invited to visit it at any time.
