The Ascension

My Dear Friends in Christ,
God has never abandoned his people; it’s we who distance ourselves by our sins. Every day we are faced with so many choices. Every choice we make has consequences, good or evil.
The disciples didn’t want Jesus to leave them. They were afraid, but Jesus told them, “The Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you everything.” They would never walk alone. Remember, in all stages and situations in our life, we never walk alone; the Holy Spirit is with us.Spend some time with the offerings below from staff to prepare for Sunday Mass. The Fifth Sunday of Easter
Sunday, May 15, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,
In Sunday’s Gospel Jesus tells his disciple, “I give you a new commandment: Love one another.” Jesus wanted the disciples to look at love in a different way. It is not easy living in love. God had a good relationship with Adam and Eve until they ate from the tree of life. The relationship was broken, but that did not stop God from loving.
Jesus used the word “new” many times in his teachings, always trying to get us to see the new creation, the new covenant his Father is bringing about. Today’s Gospel passage is the beginning of Jesus’ last discourse at the Last Supper. A discourse filled with promise, hope and a vision of the future.

The Fourth Sunday of Easter
Sunday, May 8, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,
To listen and understand the voice of someone means there is already a relationship and that is why one is able to recognize the other’s voice. So, when Jesus tells us to listen to His voice, it does not just mean the hearing of vocal cords but rather the listening that is developed through familiarity.
Jesus gives Peter three responsibilities: feed my lambs (young), tend my flock (all), and feed my sheep (old). Peter is given this noble responsibility of becoming a shepherd. When we learn to listen attentively to Jesus’ voice and hold the presence of the Holy Spirit, we become the light for the nation.Spend some time with the offerings below from staff to prepare for Sunday Mass. And check out the opportunities below.

The Third Sunday of Easter
Sunday, May 1, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,
We continue to hear Jesus revealing Himself to His disciples. The Jesus we hear after Resurrection is not the same Jesus who was crucified on Good Friday. Before Jesus went through His passion, He always had a physical interaction with His disciples. After the Resurrection, He could appear even when the doors were locked.
Although Jesus appeared several times to His disciples, they still did not quite understand the real meaning of the Resurrection. Jesus wanted them to understand that they were to be bearers of His message of eternal salvation.
Spend some time with the offerings below from staff to prepare for Sunday Mass. And check out the opportunities below. Mass is no longer being live streamed.
Anticipate Sunday, May 1
