The Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday, February 27, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,
In everyday life, we are faced with many choices and decisions. This is what we call judging. Times of crisis reveal who we are. If a negative, judgmental, critical attitude is self-destructive to yourself, it is even more destructive to others. In times of crisis, we need to encourage and lift each other up.
As we begin the Lenten season next week, we should bring the areas we are struggling with to the Lord. I would encourage you to consider only one vice and pray about it the whole of the Lenten season and to pray for a virtue to replace that vice. This practice will make us grow spiritually year after year.
Spend some time with the offerings below from staff to prepare for Sunday Mass. And check out the opportunities below.

The Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday, February 20, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,
A Christian is a follower of Jesus. Following Jesus is easier said than done. When we fall, we need to pick ourselves up and continue on our journey toward holiness. Through baptism, each of us was anointed as “another Christ.” We share in his priestly, prophetic and kingly office and are called to be transformed and to transform the world around us.
Since Covid-19 hit us, we have become much divided, but we still need each other now and will need each other after Covid-19. As Christians we are all anointed, and we should be good to each other. How well have we used this opportunity to respond to people who have different views? We are each called to see through the eyes of Jesus – to truly be Christian.

The Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday, February 13, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,
Many times we trust ourselves more than God. We think we know it all until we reach our limits, and then we realize we need God. In last Sunday’s Gospel, we heard Peter trusting Jesus when he was told, “Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.”
All of today’s readings have the common theme of trust. In the first we hear the prophet Jeremiah say, “Cursed is the one who trusts in human beings.” And in the second reading Paul asks why people are not trusting the resurrection of Jesus. The Beatitudes, which are the heart of Jesus’ preaching, respond to our desire to trust in the Lord.

The Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday, February 6, 2022
My Dear Friends in Christ,
In Sunday’s readings we hear how Isaiah, Paul and Peter needed to be pushed, because they felt unworthy to be God’s messengers. Have you ever reached your wits end and wanted to throw in the towel – like Peter and his companions who were washing the nets as a sign that they were giving up? You might have tried many ways to change, but the harder you try, the more you fail.
God sends people into our lives to humble us like Jesus did for Peter and to help us be attentive to the voice of the Holy Spirit. Jesus will meet us where we are and invite us to take the next step toward becoming faithful disciples. Let us cast into the deep.
Spend some time with the offerings below from staff to prepare for Sunday Mass. And check out the opportunities below.
