SHERMAN PARK NEWS:
Common Ground/MKE Rising and the Sherman Park Action Network (SPAN) have been working very hard to revitalize the neighborhood. MKE Rising has rehabbed and sold 85 homes to responsible homeowners and is now working with Safe and Sound and the Police to organize those new owners into forming block clubs.
The SPAN group is fundraising to renovate Washington HS track and football field. They are on target to raise $500,000 with MPS matching that amount.
Check out the new mural on the building on 47th and Center. As a result of collaboration with SPAN, Sherman Park Area Religious Congregations (SPARC), and Safe and Sound area residents have done a wonderful job painting a very colorful mural, “Sherman Park United” designed by area artist Tia Richardson. What hope it gives to our neighborhood!
